HIT Workout - April 20th

Wow!…what can I say…I guess a month of inactivity doesn’t atrophy your muscles.  My last workout was 3 days shy of a month ago and I showed improvements in ALL exercises!  But I did ‘feel’ that month of inactivity - it was the hardest workout I’ve had in a long time.
The Leg Press left me dizzy and my ears ringing…then the SS pull down left me nauseous with my forearms throbbing in pain.  And the thought that I had one more exercise made me want to cry… ;-)  No, really, it was WAY hard to get back to…
As usual, my workout was fasted with 10 grams of BCAAs taken 15 minutes before the workout.  Now, 2 hours later, I am ready for my lunch, a salad with grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, goat cheese, and EVOO.

Kevin,

This has always been our experience at Ultimate Exercise...a big improvement after a prolonged layoff, but a very unpleasant metabolic experience.

I still wonder if a metabolic HIIT workout done every 5-7 days with a BBS type workout done every 28 days might be the optimal approach.

Interesting...Jeff Erno and I were just discussing the same thing. I feel strong, but not 'fit' - like I need some other activity to give me energy.
