HIT Workout - Aug 13th

Trainer had me do a dumbell row instead of the MedX Pull Over. I laid on an inclined bench, face down, and lifted a 55 lb dumbell in each hand until my upper arms were parallel with the plane of my back, held for 3 secs, and lowered.

Looks like another week of good progress.

I think I already asked you this, but for the TUL listed does that include the negatives and assisted reps? In other words, does he stop the clock when you fail then assist for the negative? Or does he help with the assisted rep then stop the clock after that?

My reason for asking is understanding what he is doing versus my experience. Adding the extra reps or negatives wiped me out so that the next week I was unable to achieve even the same TUL for the same weight. To know this would you need to have a consistent way of assessing TUL. If he adds negatives to the TUL it would artificially increase it when you might have been under recovered or over stimulated the previous workout, if that makes sense. Take a look at my recent post for more detail.

Sorry - I never checked the comments until tonight. He stops the TUL on normal positive failure. The extra negatives are simply to burn me out further...not timed.
